My stay at The Plough at Lupton, Cumbria (Food, glorious food)

15 Apr My stay at The Plough at Lupton, Cumbria (Food, glorious food)

I was lucky enough to stay at The Plough at Lupton last week, whilst away for four days on a business photography course.

I was told it was a nice place, and was recommended by Aspire Photography training. As soon as I walked into the small reception area, I knew I was going to love my stay there.

When staying away, on your own as a female, you can often feel a little uncomfortable, BUT there was no need to feel that way here. The room and bathroom was lovely and I really liked the decor of the whole hotel and restaurant.

The first thing I did after checking in, was to enjoy a very long hot soak in the beautiful roll top bath. Next was supper, I was given a warm reception and felt very at home, eating on my own. There was a great choice of delicious things to eat as well as a Specials board. I decided to have the Smoked Chicken and spring onion risotto for starters, followed by Pan Fried fillet of cod, lemon and Parmesan herb crust, poached hens egg, on a crushed pink fir potatoes, chive butter and spinach.  I then filled my boots by going all out for the Sticky Toffee Pudd, which was glorious. (Well I had, had a long drive and day) My two biggest passions are photography and F O O D, so I was so happy here.

Breakfast the next morning, certainly didn’t disappoint, I chose Eggs Benedict, which was beautifully cooked, I love a good poached egg, it was with pulled ham on toasted sough dough bread which had the most amazing texture and was from Lovingly Artisan (check them out) amazing baker!

I had a very inspirational four days on the Photography business course and met some really lovely people.

On Thursday, after my course finished for the day, I popped over to Lake Windermere, albeit briefly, but with only being 20 miles away, I felt it was rude not to see THE LAKE. It didn’t disappoint and I can’t wait to go back and have a longer stay next time.

Thursday at The Plough at Lupton, is Steak night. With it being a last but one day on the course, we all had a meal together, it was delicious and a lovely evening had by all.

I would highly recommend a Stay at The Plough at Lupton, you may wish to look them up here, it would make a great base if you want to explore the local area, that is full of the most beautiful rolling hills, and landscapes.

I would also recommend a course with Aspire Photography Training, they have various ones, that can suit any stage of a photographers career and they are set in the most beautiful location, an old stable block within the grounds of an old Manor.

I’m back home now, in sunny South Oxfordshire, eating much less and back to my Hiit / circuit training. Wonderful memories and looking forward to putting things I learnt into place for my photography business.
