Who should attend?
This online Children’s photography course is aimed at children aged approx 8-11 and is the much more simplified version of my long running Beginner Digital SLR workshop for adults.
As a mum and having a passion for encouraging anyone that shows interest in Photography, I wanted to put something together that can be learnt in small bitesize chunks, and the pre-recorded content can be re-watched again and again, so they don’t need to sit through 2 hours content in one go. The activities and challenges set at the end of each module will provide further hours of entertainment too, some they can do in the home or garden, some out on walks with you or family members.
This is aimed more for a child if they have a Digital (point and shoot) camera, but will also be ok if they have access to a Digital SLR camera but doesn’t go into how to photograph Off Auto, it will cover the basics of Digital Photography with some activities to do at the end of some of the modules.
The course covers the fundamentals of photography such as:
- Introduction to parents (over view of online course)

- Module 1 – History of Photography
- Module 2 – Photographers Tool Kit
- Module 3 – Photography Terms
- Module 4 – Exposure

ABOUT THE TUTOR
I am a mum and wanted to put together a course for younger children to encourage their interest in Photography so this is a much more simplified version of the Beginner Digital SLR photography course. The aim is to encourage children to slow down and observe and notice things, enjoy being outside, nature and also has activities to practice in the home and garden.
I have taught many 1-2-1’s for children, as well as Year 10 & 12 media studies students in a local Secondary School and Year 6 for The Henley Youth Festival, at several local Primary Schools. I also have taught at Reading College and held countless workshops for adults for Beginner Digital SLR, Smart Phone photography (for leisure) and for Business social media.
I love sharing my passion of photography, and thoroughly enjoy teaching. I have taught hundreds if not thousands over the years. I haven’t always been a Professional Photographer. I have been on the other side, got a fancy camera, didn’t know where to start, so got stuck on photographing in Auto.
They can log in online, and learn at their own pace, revisiting any modules if needed.
