I loved making this yesterday hosted by @sonningflowers wreath making workshop in Reading.

@bluecollarfood was a very pretty office to photograph in too, as Heather and the team from Sonning Flowers had decorated it.

Highly recommend them - check out their website to see if any places are left this week - weekend.

What’s your favourite cake?

I love a Victoria sponge with fresh cream & fresh strawberries - Gluten free of course… rarely find nice GF bakes out and about, but I suppose that saves on the waist line 🤪🤣🙏🏻

If you’re a cafe, restaurant , cake baker, show casing your beautiful bakes is really key.

Avoid photographing at night as you’ll be fighting shadows from over head lights & the tungsten yellow glow from bulbs is not flattering.

Think about light, colours that complement and props to set the scene or mood.

Not only do they serve incredible food with amazing front of house team, they also have a delicious cocktails menu.

It’s well worth popping down there for a pre dinner drink.

We will remember them.

My Grandfather was in the tank regiment, and my Nan volunteered in the Auxiliary Fire Service in the boroughs of Wandsworth / Battersea in London while he was away.

She must have seen so many horrors pulling people out of the bombed buildings during the blitz.

She had so many scars up her arms from burns.

To me she was my Nan. Always smiling and my gosh, always had us in stitches , she had the best sense of humour, real funny bones.

Sadly I never met my Grandfather but he sounded an amazingly talented & kind man.

Thinking of all that have fought, lost their lives and those that live on with injuries.
Wishing for some peace in this complex world at present too.
