I was ten years old when I got my first camera – a Boots disposable, no less. I was in Cornwall at the time, taking snaps of the rustic coastline & scenery. From that moment on, I was in love. It was a while before I got my hands on a professional camera and I still remember my horror when I saw the size of the instruction manual. Back then I had no idea that once I got my head around it all and re-trained, I’d be taking photos of the Prime Minister, BBC Proms and Olympics.

I’m an experienced teacher having taught in Primary schools via The Henley Youth Festival, in secondary schools for Media studies, at Reading College and held countless in person workshops.

I love photography and being with people… and so, a few years ago, I decided to offer courses.

Whether it is Smartphone photography or Beginner photography courses, One to one lessons or bespoke workshops, I have several to choose from.

No matter your age or ability, there’s something here for you. I also offer mentoring for people who are thinking about going professional.

I offer bespoke training for companies and have taught the likes of Ocado, Invesco and Hurley House Hotel.

Camera phones have come a long way since my career in marketing and whilst they’ll never replace the need for professional photography, they can work amazingly well for social media. As a brand manager I know how important imagery is when it comes to representing your product or service and I’m passionate about helping businesses thrive online.

This course is aimed at creatives, makers, chefs, service providers, coaches and anyone responsible for social media content. It’s a relaxing and collaborative place to learn and be inspired.

If you are unable to make this date but can get together a group of 5-8 friends and happy to host a private workshop at your home or venue – I can come to you. Prices per person varies on distance and how many people in your group.

One to One Lessons

One to one sessions can be tailored to your needs and abilities. I work with children, complete beginners, people who’ve done my courses and those who haven’t.

Sessions are usually around two & a half hours and can be focused on particular areas of interest – nature, children, pets or holidays, for example.

One to one sessions are suitable for the over 12’s and start from £225.

The Complete Masterclass (Digital SLR) is a much more in depth package includes an initial 1-2-1 session, with a follow up lesson four to six weeks later. The cost is £499

I also offer mentoring sessions for those who are thinking about stepping into the world of professional photography.

Here, I can arrange models and we’ll go through a photoshoot together, from start to finish.
